Slept for less than 2 hour, struggled to pull myself out of the bed.
As expected the MRT stations and trains were filled with people in the red Nike Run attire. Met Mike at popeye before proceeding for the run.
We waited all the way at the back of the startpoint. I was so disapointed was hoping to catch a glimpse of Rui En. The turnout for the run is exceptional, i guess now Singaporeans now are putting more emphasis on personnal fitness.
Flag off at 7.20am and we were stuck right at the back. We were chatting all the way non stop throughout the run, catching up with each other. I must say the last time i ran was a month back due to bad cough and flu, did not want to further aggravate the situtation. Route wise was pretty clear cut, not much turns and the barricades are set up properly.
I felt the adrenaline rush and my pace was pretty good. But a lot of energy was wasted on needless overtaking, energy wasted is energy wasted. I definitely struggled to sustain the pace at the last 3km, due to lack of running mileage and sleep perharps (another good excuse). My legs could substain but the lung was just giving up, having to slow down to prevent myself from burning out. I was so glad to see the Singapore Flyer getting closer and closer to me. Eventually, still manage to complete with a sub hour timing. Time for some trainings!
Met up with several of my campmates after the run and had a good chat after the run.
Aim for the next few run:
Learn to do a Cartwheel over the finish line.
Get a washing board abs and wear compression tights with stylo milo Oakley, even though there isnt any sun.
